What's wrong with anger

Nothing. Nothing at all. If I'm angry, I'm angry. Maybe it's a sign of attachment, or maybe buddhism has it all wrong, and it's only natural to get angry at times. In practice, it doesn't make any difference. My anger is totally okay. Even acting out that anger is totally fine. Even harming other living beings is fine. It's only enlightened world playing with enlightened world.

So is there any benefit, any one AT ALL in NOT acting on my anger, in viewing it calmly, in practicing awareness and lovingkindness?

Yes. It's really about freedom, nothing else. It's about realizing that I don't really gain anything if I act out my anger. Just one more game played, nothing else. As far as I understand that, I can decide, with real liberty, how to act.

Yeah, nothing so new here. It just struck me so intensely, I wanted to share...

I think the problem is that anger controls a person. Most people, at least-- v. few have the ability to simply sit back and observe it, to feel it yet not let it motivate them to act.

If you can get to that stage of endurance, then I think anger can be a v. cleansing emotion, esp. if the person feeling it has a history of being a doormat, or idiot compassion. Sometimes some good righteous anger helps a person be strong and do what needs to be done, in spite of being afraid.

NA, don't thing there is a use in coomon human interactionsm, since you can learn to judge situations in live by wisdom. You can have the energy and the focus to pull people with you, as long as your decisions are wise and your handling is lead by compassion. There is no need to counter shyness and the lack of aggression, with anger.

I had my share of anger on monday and it wasn't a feeling of any achivement in the end. Yeah, there can be this feeling of righteous anger, by striking those who seem to deserve it. In the end, it's just one weak person, not able to hold his horses, cause you might feel wronged or had to defend your pride. So, I get your drift. :-)
